    Port-of-Spain -- May 10, 2012 -Within two weeks action will be taken to stop the haemorrhaging of finances at Caribbean Airlines (CAL), says chairman Rabindra Moonan.This includes the dropping of unprofitable CAL and Air Jamaica routes.

    April 22, 2012 - In a statement from its Piarco head office late on Thursday, CAL said it informed the Jamaican Airline Pilots Association and the pilot body of its intention to offer contracts of employment with CAL.


    Kingston - April 20, 2012 - Trinidad-owned Caribbean Airlines (CAL) yesterday announced that the positions of all pilots represented by the Jamaican Airline Pilots' Association (JALPA) will be made redundant next month -- a move one major trade union is likening to union busting.

    March 8, 2012 - State owned Caribbean Airlines is sending home about 150 employees from its Air Jamaica network.

    Aug. 8, 2011 - Preliminary findings by investigators, according to industry and government officials, point to pilot error rather than mechanical or other system malfunctions, the WSJ report said. A source close to the investigations had also told Stabroek News last week that preliminary investigations point to pilot error as the main contributing factor to Caribbean Airlines Flight 523 overshooting the runway at the CJIA.

    Port-of-Spain - June 29, 2012 - State-owned Caribbean Airlines (CAL) is looking for sale for four of the nine brand new ATR-72-600 turbo prop aircraft it ordered last year. Those planes are now sitting in hangars at the ATR plant in Toulouse, France.
